May/June 2012 logging photos

The kiln (and Jay) took a break this year and ran a logging operation on the ridge trees. Many of you will miss the beautiful canopy on the walk to the top of the hill. However, some of the trees were carrying a disease that would spread to the healthy trees - so, they needed to be taken out. The result though is some beautiful vistas from the ridge road. It looks pretty beat up this year, but given the growing conditions, will look good again by next year.
